Bios for the Otto & Sam/Buford's Collie Squadron series All created and/or defined by Robert Baer Jr Names: Otto Species: Dog Background: Otto was an ordinary well-trained guard dog for over one year until he was struck by a truck while persuing an intruder. In great pain and his canine body shattered, his owner wanted him destroyed. Uncle Buford and Maxx came unto the scene and begged for his body. Taking him to his lab, Uncle Buford used bionic parts to save his life and give him many special abilities. Otto was originally a 'gift' for Buford's nephew Nathan Lovejoy (aka The Computer Renegade). In time, Otto became 'self aware' with a mind of his own and control over his computerized mind and inplants. Later, he met and eventually married Samantha Maddog, a collie. He and his wife assisted their masters (the Computer Renegade and the Masked Melitta) in their fight against evil. Eventually, the two bacame associate members of the Road Rovers. Special Abilities: Super speed, teleportation, can shoot laser beams out of his eyes, anti-gravity rays, invisibility, image-protection, cerebral neutralizer, super strength, can communicate and interface with any computer system, create force fields, etc. Breed: German Shepard Personality: He 'talks' like John Wayne and is a fun loving canine. Sometimes he talks too technical to be understood. He has a good heart and a warm personality. Is always calm and cool under pressure. Description: light brown and black fir Name: Samantha Maddog Species: Dog Background: Samantha is the daughter of Ben Maddog, unlike her four sisters, she doesn't become an attorney. Instead, she marries a bulldog and tries to live a normal life. After a year of constant abuse, Samantha divorced him and returned to her father's house. Then, she met Otto, fell in love and got married. With the special collar that Uncle Buford gave her on her wedding day, Samantha helps her master Wanna Lovejoy (aka the Masked Melitta) in fighting crime. Later, both she and her husband become associate members of the Road Rovers. Special Abilities: Samantha is a pretty good attack dog, even without her special collar. With her collar, she can teleport, fire anti-gravity rays, become invisible, create force fields, etc. Breed: Collie Personality: Samantha is very shy and timid, also extremely polite. She's easily excited and gets very upset when her masters are threatened or when people call her husband a 'robot.' Description: Looks a lot like Colleen Name: Uncle Buford (Buford Lovejoy) Species: Human Background: A retired NASA scientist, Buford's true love and 'hobby' was biology, in particular, bionic parts and enhancements. With this knowledge, he built Maxx, his robotic Great Dane. When his nephew became the Computer Renegade, he found a dying German Shepard and 'repaired' him, naming him Otto and presented him as a gift to him. Later, when a young racing horse was nearly killed by a stable fire, Buford took her to his lab, repaired her and named her Starlight. She was given to his nephew's wife on their wedding day. Special Abilities: He (like his nephew) carries "black boxes" which he uses for teleportation, anti-gravity rays, etc. He also has a number of devices hidden in his walking cane. Breed: N/A Personality: Though an older man, Buford is very active. He's very wise, has a 'father-like' effect on his friends and allies. Description: Grey hair, stands about 5'9" Name: Ben Maddog Species: Dog Background: Was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Became a star attorney but his life was changed the day his lovely wife was killed by a drunk driver, leaving him alone to raise six collie puppies. Ben became friends with the Computer Renegade, four of his daughters became lawyers and work in his law firm. Eventually he and his children all became Road Rovers and serve in Buford's Collie Squadron. Special Abilities: Can hold and discharge electrical energy from his body Breed: Collie Personality: Very warm, fun loving, but at times very serious. Description: Think of a Male version of Colleen Names: Abby Maddog Species: Dog Background: One of Ben Maddog's children, Abby is an attorney and works at her father's law firm. Has helped her sister and brother in law (Otto and Samantha). Became a Road Rover and a member of the Collie Spuadron. Breed: Collie Special Abilities: Can become a "torch" Personality: An able attorney, she's somewhat immature and conceited Description: Looks a lot like Colleen Name: Molly Maddog Species: Dog Background: One of Ben Maddog's children, Molly is an attorney and works at her father's law firm. Has helped her sister and brother in law (Otto and Samantha). Became a Road Rover and a member of the Collie Squadron. Breed: Collie Special Abilities: super speed (like Hunter) Personality: Molly loves to fix and repair things. She a little more "down to earth than her other sisters. Description: Looks a lot like Colleen Name: Vicki Maddog Species: Dog Background: One of Ben Maddog's children, Vicki is an attorney and works at her father's law firm. Has helped her sister and brother in law (Otto and Samantha). Became a Road Rover and a member of the Collie Squadron. Breed: Collie Special Abilities: she can fly Personality: Vicki has an 'attitude' she calls it self confidence, others call it having a huge ego Description: Looks a lot like Colleen Name: Linda Maddog Species: Dog Background: One of Ben Maddog's children, Linda is an attorney and works at her father's law firm. Has helped her sister and brother in law (Otto and Samantha). Became a Road Rover and a member of the Collie Squadron. Breed: Collie Special Abilities: can pass through solid objects Personality: Linda is a lot like her sister Vicki, is very competitve Description: Looks a lot like Colleen Name: Roger Maddog Species: Dog Background: Roger is Ben Maddog's only son. He went into law enforcement and became a valued member of the K-9 corp. Later, due to budget cuts, he lost his job. Became a Road Rover and a member of the Collie Squadron. Breed: Collie Special Abilities: super strength Personality: Roger is a lot like his sister Samantha, very timid, very shy Description: Think of a Male version of Colleen Name: Kyra Species: Dog Background: Kyra was born in Oakland, California. Her master being a lifeguard, Kyra walked the beaches with him. Later she was called to be a Road Rover. She studied field medicine at the RR Academy and was later assigned to the Collie Squadron to become Uncle Buford's assistant. Breed: Collie/Shetlie mix Special Abilities: Kyra is a 'plastic skinned' Road Rover, can extend her limbs and even her entire body like she were made of elastic. Personality: Very outgoing and fun loving, great bedside manner Description: Hard to describe, see pic in my FanArt section. Name: Starlight Species: Horse Background: Like Otto, Starlight was in a tragic accident and was rebuilt with bionic parts by Uncle Buford. She was a wedding present for Wanna Lovejoy, and has served both the Computer Renegade and the Road Rovers well. Breed: Stallion Special Abilities: All of the same abilities Otto has. Personality: Sweet, very serious at times Description: Pure white horse Name: Computer Gila Monster Species: Reptile Background: Origin unknown (even to him). Has served loyally with the Computer Renegade and now with the Road Rovers too! Breed: Don't ask! Special Abilities: Very strong, uses his 2 x 4 to bash bad guys Personality: He's not too bright, ill-mannered, easily angered, but deep down he's really a nice guy Description: Think of a six-foot "Cano-lizard" dressed like Fonzie
